Readable directly
TXT, logs, Markdown, CSV, TSV, JSON, JSONL, XML, HTML, YAML, INI and ordinary source code can be displayed as inert text, tables or parsed JSON.
Native media previews
Common raster images, PDF, audio and video may preview if your browser has support for their codecs and formats. SVG is inspected as source rather than rendered, to reduce active-content risk.
Container inspection only
ZIP, EPUB, DOCX, XLSX and PPTX can be inspected as file packages. Phase 2 offers bounded, text-first previews for selected DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, EPUB and OpenDocument parts. It does not reproduce precise page layout, calculate formulas, run macros, display transitions or decode DRM-protected books.
Unknown and proprietary files
The signature detector and hex viewer are general fallbacks. Some proprietary, encrypted, damaged and unusually large files cannot be decoded in the browser. We will say so explicitly instead of presenting an invented preview.
